Snowshoe Tours
Walk across the snow and into the big white yonder as you are guided to some interesting features and landmarks in Australia’s winter wonderland. This soft adventure is friendly for all who can walk. A must-do for picture perfect views.

Important Information:
- Runs 9am or 1pm for 3 hours. Meet 8:45am and 12:45pm at the large maps at Valley Terminal.
- Ages 15 Years and Over
- Complimentary Backcountry Access Pass.

- Snowshoe rental is included and your guide will bring them at the start of the tour.
- Moderate level of fitness to negotiate some short, steep hill sections is required.

Introduction to Backcountry
If you’ve never tried Alpine Touring, this full day tour is the perfect introduction. Your guide will introduce you to the specialist equipment, safety aspects and skills required to negotiate simple backcountry terrain.

- 6 hour all day tour departing at 8:45am from large maps at Valley Terminal.
- Ages 15 Years and Over.

- No prior touring experience is required but must be strong intermediate to advanced skier or snowboarder. Comfortable on T-Bars. To check your level, click here.

- Contains avalanche beacon, shovel & probe.

Women's Introduction to Backcountry
In Partnership with The North Face we present this unique experience aimed at providing more women with the opportunity to gain and develop skills beyond the resort boundaries and connect with those that already are immersed in the big white wonder. Join us on the Friday night before the tour to meet your guides and regroup on Saturday evening to reminisce about the day.

- 6 hour all day tour highlighting equipment familiarisation, skinning, backcountry awareness & safety.
- Departs at 8:45am from large maps at Valley Terminal.
- Ages 18 Years and Over.

Beyond Boundaries Tour
Explore the vast and stunning Australian Main Range with a knowledgeable guide. From Bogong to Mt Kosciuszko, the mission is to find the perfect line and score fresh snow.

- 7 hour all day tour learning to methodically negotiate more technical terrain, recognise hazards and mitigate risk.
- Departs at 8:45am from large maps at Valley Terminal.
- Ages 18 Years and Over.

- Previous experience touring as an upper intermediate to advanced skier or snowboarder. To check your level, click here.

Youth Development Tour
In Partnership with The North Face join us for a backcountry day designed for the next generation of enthusiasts. Participants will receive mentorship, new experiences, upskilling opportunities and community connections.

Backcountry Rental
Explore the Main Range with our Backcountry Rental packages (pick up Valley Terminal only). Choose from Volkl touring skis with Mohair skins, a Burton splitboard with Montana skins or Tubbs snowshoes (all packages include collapsible poles). This package is available for rent with a Thredbo Backcountry Tour or if you have prior backcountry experience.

Important Information:
- Ages 15 Years and Over.
- All Ski and Board backcountry packages come with optional boots, you are encouraged to bring your own boots if you already own suitable Alpine Ski or Snowboards boots.
- Volkl Blaze 94 package are fitted with Marker Kingpin bindings for the ultimate in backcountry exploring. If your own Alpine Ski Boots are not Kingpin compatible we will fit you with a boot from our kingpin range.
- Backcountry Rental can be picked up from 3pm prior to your start date from Thredbo Sports - Valley Terminal.
- Knowledge of how backcountry equipment is used is required in order to avoid damage to the equipment or injury. This basic level of equipment knowledge is included in a Thredbo Backcountry tour. If you are not booked on a guided backcountry tour your will be required to answer questions regarding your knowledge level of backcountry equipment before the rental is issued.
